How-To

- Window Frames -

I do not have any pictures of the window frames I made this year. I will take some pictures after the season is over. But, in a nutshell, these are one of the easiest elements to create. I simple used four 90 degree PVC elbows and some 1/2" SCH40 PVC pipe to make a frame that fit around the window frame. You can glue or zip tie incadescent lights to the PVC frame. I chose to outline mine with LED RGB strip lights. Each window frame also has a 3-channel DMX controller so I can individually control each window and its displayed color. I zipped tied the lights on every 12" or so, and hot glue the corner connections to waterproof them. I additionally soldered on waterproof in/out connectors. Each year I just hang the frame up and connect one window to the next via the waterproof connectors and connection cables that I made. Then when the Holiday Season is over, simply take the frames down and stand them up together in the storage room. I will let you know next year how this worked out and if the LED RGB strip lights were worth the investment. I will try to get some pictures up so you can see what they look like up close. Again, I won't do this until I am taking everything down.
